Joe's Cafe

We have gone to Joe's for many years. The service is top-notch and the waiters and bartenders have been there for years. We also enjoy the food. It is not for vegetarians except for the Yukon gold mashed potatoes which is what I usually get. We like the fact that now you can sit outside which is great on a nice day. If it's cold, there are heaters or sit inside where it is warm and cozy. Lots of parking in the public lot nearby. There is not much waiting time if any and you can always have a cocktail when waiting.

We arrived at about 11: 50am, Sunday, and receptionist said they start serving lunch at noon. After a short wait outside the very busy, loud and bustling interior we found a seat in a booth that was a little quieter. There are a few outdoor tables in a parklet out front. The server was both friendly and professional. I had a warm Reuben sandwich with Fringe -fries and onion rings. Delicious, and server M- said she's had very positive reviews of the sandwich from New Yorkers. A great lunchtime experience.

I must admit that we weren’t planning to eat here but we sort of forgot that most US restaurants close their kitchens before 9pm. Thankfully Joe’s was able to accommodate us just before the kitchen closed.

Despite turning up so late, staff were really friendly and accommodating. The menu choice was huge and the food was very good. One of the mains wasn’t exactly as described, but no complaints given the effort they made to accommodate us.

Joe’s is a Santa Barbara institution. I’m very pleased that we found them, albeit by accident!

Stopped on the way to a trip as we saw cocktails were available with breakfast. Great spot! Pleasant surprise - the food is good and the cocktails are pretty tasty. Cute inside with light fixtures and memorabilia. Love the diner setup with the tall booths. Service is wonderful. Overall an awesome spot.
