I would recommend substituting the fries you get on the side for garlic fries. They give pretty large portions for the price that you pay. You can also ask for a grilled version if you do not want as much fried food. I got the fried fish and fried scallops with clam chowder. Everything was very tasty.
Solid stuff here. The fish tacos are totally worth the $7.95. You get two and they’re big. Other stuff is good too. Ceviche, fish with sides, fish and chips...all kinds of good stuff.
It’s a smaller spot so there might be a wait. Service is nice.
I LOVE this place. You will not find a better bargain for great seafood anywhere else in the bay area. They deserve 10 stars.
Just as the name suggests, the classic dish is a fish and chips. You can substitute the chips for coleslaw. The portions are generous, three of us split these three dishes, and were quite full, couldn't finish the fries! The prices are extremely reasonable, it is a relatively small store, so you might have to wait. Our waiter was friendly, we didn't feel rushed to get out even though there were people waiting. Highly recommended, a second location is in San Jose.
Wow! Super-delicious, prompt and friendly service, pleasantly casual. My only regret is that I didn't find this place earlier (it's just 12 minutes from my house!)
My friend and I ordered a ton of fried stuff: fish, chicken, scallops. The breading itself isn't particularly flavorful (so the tartar sauce / ketchup / vinegar / etc. come in handy), but it's so amazingly crisp and light without being greasy! They refer to it as "tempura style" and, yep, absolutely true.
Fish was flakey and moist. Scallops were tender and juicy. Chicken was fine but I'd skip it next time.
Definitely amongst the most delicious fried fish I've had!
Coleslaw was lightly creamy, benefited from a bit of salt and pepper.
Clam chowder was very creamy, absolutely "comfort food" though I would have liked a bit more clams in it.
Garlic fries were delightfully garlicky.
Can't wait to go back! A guy next to me had a lobster roll which looked amazing (and the fellow raved about it). And I'm looking forward to trying some of the grilled fish options.
