Italian Brothers Restaurant

I'm so excited Italian Brothers Restaurant is open! I've been a fan of the bakery on San Carlos in San Jose since they opened.

My favorite pasta is Carbonara and it was excellent at Italian Brothers. Next time I'm going to try The Amatriciana which has recently been added to the menu. My biggest problem is trying to not eat too much bread. Oh and the Bruschetta is piled high with fresh tomatoes.

My favorite thing about the restaurant and the bakery is I feel transported to Italy when I'm there. Fresh authentic Italian food and a welcoming and hospitable family from Sicily.

For soft opening on Wednesday, they did excellent on Saturday. Threy str on the way to 5 star once they are open for several weeks. Place was packed for lunch this Saturday. Several who arrived evidently did not want to sit outside, as we did. Very good Whiskey Sour, Italian Sauvignon Blanc. The Cusumano Merlot with the meal was outstanding, great bouquet, soft, velvet food wine, went great with Eggplant Parmigiana (appetizer and enough for the meal), main dish, Bolognese pasta, was large, good enough for two, Sue took half home for later, geat dessert. Great Cannoli dessert. Lookng forward to going a second time. They are closed Monday. Rest of the week, 11:30am to 2:30pm. And I think 4:30pm to 9:30pm for dinner (not sure of dinner time).

Having been a regular at their Bakery/Pizza in San Jose where many ingredients are imported to achieve the traditional taste, I was happy to see them open up in Los Gatos. We attended during the soft opening and it was great to see all tables were full. There were a couple of hiccups, yet they were aware and offered us a glass of wine each. I know they will be on it and work it out. The pace the meal was served at was refreshing. Not the typical rush of flipping tables that seems the norm in some places, they want to make sure your meal is to their approval and you are satisfied. Calamari was okay, then I saw the table next to us get theirs and it looked amazing. Maybe we just received a different crisper small ring batch which happens. The sauces are authentic. The pasta is fresh, well cooked and served HOT which is a big deal in my books. I did have to take a `to-go' box with me, as my serving was larger then I was expecting. Looking forward to my leftovers at lunch. The Italian language was used amongst the staff off and on adding to the real experience. My only issue was the lighting is too bright for my type of dining.
