I like the food and the atmosphere is great for business dinner or lunch. The prices are high for the amount of food that is received. The selection of entrees that is given on the menus is great. It has been awhile since I have had Cantonese food; but in comparison to other Asian restaurants, Koi Palace food is really authentic. Price for each entree could be reduced by 15%.
Was craving Koi Palace on one of my last nights in New York, and Ton chin delivered! My friend and I arrived right when the doors opened and were seated right away. Our server quickly took our order and also gave us a mini history on the restaurant. Both of us got the tonsure Koi Palace and enjoyed it. It's their most popular Koi Palace for a reason!
TL;DR fast service, great Koi Palace.
Big restaurant. This is a Cantonese style restaurant. The menu offers quite a choice. Some of the combos are of good value. The choice of drinks including beer is good. The service was quite good. Two other points worth mentioning are elevator and plenty of parking.
We visited Koi yesterday, which is the night before Chinese New Year. They offered a meal package for $188 which includes steamed fish, beef and scallops, fried rice, scallops soup, salted chicken and an appetizer, plus complimentary mini dessert in the end. They are all pretty good honestly. The reason I am subtracting one star is because of the waiting time. We made an appointment two weeks ago for 6:30pm yesterday. And anyone would expect that your table would be ready when you get there right? But when we got there, we were informed that the people made reservations before us were still waiting.... so okay, that’s fine. We can wait to be called. The thing bothers me a lot is that walk-in people were getting the table before us. So what’s the point of making a reservation?? But anyway, the food is definitely authentic and delicious. Hope next time when we make a reservation, it would be better.
