Humble appearance from the outside, authentic & tasty food on the inside. A good mix of dishes, that would be more at home in a Mainland China restaurant than is common outside. The dishes were bright and punchy with flavour and spicy when expected.
Vibe of the restaurant itself is relaxed. Not a special occasion location, but perfect to catch up with friends (who like real Chinese food or are more adventurous). Convenient parking out the back.
Good and clean ambience, Solid B+ to A- food.
The heavier-set waiter was rude, otherwise I will give
4 stars.
Beef tongue is tender and juicy, but it's too salty.
The sour cabbage fish soup is good, but the gas stove is not powerful enough, it took 15 minutes cook the veggies...
Everything was so good, we ordered abalone chicken soup, beef, smoked cold fish, one dessert and one vegetable dish. All taste nice.
It’s the best authentic Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area. Besides the best spicy food, they also serve a lot of super delicious Shanghainese food. It’s true it’s more expensive than a typical Chinese restaurant. But if you care about quality of ingredients, how every bite of your food tastes and your surroundings as you enjoy your dine-in experience, you will love this restaurant as much I do. This is the only Chinese restaurant I want to eat at when I crave authentic Chinese food.
