They charged me an extra $5 which I notice on the credit card statement. Assuming that it was mistake, and 4 became 9, this is still odd, given that receipts lists to other numbers, for easy verification.
On the food note, very americanized, over salted and heavy.
Waiters are very casual, chat about their new hairstyles, and do not clean tables, or bring bread before food arrives :). However, I was asked 12 times, if food was good, 2 times by the same person, and after the same meal :D.
Delicious, flavorful food. Got some good recommendations from our waiter. We had a great time. A good place for romantic dinner or a little special occasion.
Excellent food, though very rich as you might expect from a proper French restaurant. Unfortunately, the service was not quite up to par with other fine restaurants in the area. Our waitress forgot to bring our wine and the side dish we ordered. I appreciated that they comped the side dish to reflect the mistakes though.
Went to Zola with a group of co-workers and had a spectacular experience. The restaraunt is very quaint and not very large but has a great ambiance and atmosphere. We tried a sampling of many different appetizers and dishes and I did not have anything that I did not enjoy. The two stand outs for me were the gnocchi and the short rib bourguignon. If you are looking for delicious food with great service in Palo Alto, give Zola a try!
Went here by my lonesome to try their fare. From soup to nuts, an impeccable experience. Wine list was curated extremely well. Not massive, but the thoughtful work of a pro, with guidance to boot. Service: superior, and always a step ahead. Food: truly, next level. Had a lamb porterhouse that will give me reveries. For a small place, this is improbably excellent. I’m confident to say it is the best place I will eat at this year. And this year included San Sebastián.
