The Counter Palo Alto

Good high end burgers, perhaps a bit pricey but well worth it. Their burgers are great, their chicken wings too, their chilly con carne is wonderful, all round a pleasant dining experience.

On weekend evenings you might have to wait for a table, but usually not too long, and it's well worth it. Count on spending some 40-50 dollars per person, though. It isn't cheap. But not exorbitantly expensive either.

Staff at The Counter are really rushed. The kitchen can customize what you order. Be specific and check that the staff heard you. For example, if want your hamburger to be medium rare - check your understanding of what you get. If you order a bun less burger, be prepared -- the ingredients are just piled in the dish. Not much that they can do but set your expectations.

Delicious turkey burger. Almost forgot I wasn't eating beef. Attentive staff. Decent bar.

Food is pretty good. But the price is a little too high for what you actually get. There are definitely better options around at that prize class.

Awesome burgers and friendly staff. Wide choice of many ingredients to build your own burger and some really good a la carte burgers. One star deduction for the size of the portions... Was little smaller than expected. Though it fills you up.
