When I went, this location was still in a soft opening. That being said, the decor is modern, the space is clean with a variety of seating (high tables and standard tables and chairs) to choose from.
The food was good too. I got the lamb/pork doner kebab and the wrap was toasted, thin, and had great grilled flavor while the meat was juicy, crispy and cut thin. The sauce was creamy and really brought the meat, bread and add-ons all together.
I also had the crave fries, which would have benefited from the topping being more evenly applied across the fries but was still yummy. The cheese and sauce paired well with the pickled onions and crispy fries.
Given how good things were at the soft opening I'm definitely excited to try it when they open fully!
I went to this place to try out something new since I had gotten bored of trying the same Mediterranean restaurants. This place surely turned out different with different offerings and packaging. This is more like Mediterranean food meets McDonald's. The food by itself is good though. I find it hard to remember the last time I enjoyed the tabouli salad the way I did over here. Same goes for falafel. However the overall package offering from a cost standpoint left things to be desired. For e.g. even with premium bundling pita was not given
I mean its okay. I got the wrap and plate. I don't know why people told its good. It's okay. No different from any other place.
The food is delicious! I came here the second day they were open. We got the carved lamb and beef box. Fries are at the bottom, which at first I was annoyed since it's covered and at the bottom, but as I ate it together with the meat, it wasn't that bad. The reason why I give it a 4 star is because there was a review they posted and it said "10 best things to eat for under 10 dollars in San diego." But literally their menu at this location starts at 10 dollars. So I'm wondering did they increase the price in the bay or are their main course meals cheaper in San Diego or both?
Friendly staff, quick service, and a straightforward menu of Mediterranean food means The Kebab Shop could be "the" place to eat after spending hours at the Xfinity store next door.
It's basically the Chipotle formula applied to Mediterranean food. You're getting clean and consistent food that is good but isn't very authentic.
