Taqueria El Abuelo

Perhaps my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. The salsa bar is ridiculously good! Burritos are great, meat is perfect, and the staff is friendly. My wife raves about the veggie burritos, so it's a place we can both go to.

Delicious homestyle hand made food, made to order. It's a bit of a dive, looks like a neighborhood taqueria with Formica tables and plain wooden chairs, tv playing Mexican soap operas, constant, loud Mexican music. But it does seem clean, other than the nasty air conditioning unit has on the ceiling.
You order at the counter. There is a large menu but on the wall opposite the counter there is a picture menu.
There is a vegetarian menu but not a vegan menu. They also have a seafood menu. Prices start at $5.00 for an a la cart enchilada. A cheese enchilada plate is $14.95, which includes 3 enchiladas, beans, rice, salsa, and guacamole. They are friendly. Service is fast.
They offer soft drinks, beer, and Michaladas.

This place is FABULOUS! I am not a pinto bean fan but theirs are amazing. I got a Chili Relleno plate & it took me 3 days to finish it. Everything had the most wonderful flavors. Not your norm Americanized Mexican food. They are more So American with unusual delicious flavors & a super salsa bar with such yummy extras like radishes & huge chunks of pickled carrots. It was 10:30 on a Sunday night & Harrys Hoffbrau has closed so I needed good late night food. There were 15 people there at 10:30 on a Sunday night.. so I decided to give it a try. I WILL be back. EXCELLENT!!!

Found this spot this week, already been twice. All the meats are really good. Highly recommend for good Mexican food.
