This food is delicious! I've come here quite a few times, both for the jerk chicken (which comes with this amazing spicy sauce, plantains, and beans). The meat is so flavorful, and the plantains are quite good too. The other meats look good, but jerk chicken!! It's a little dark inside, and the food takes some time to come out. It's always really full too so you might have to wait for a table. The tables and chairs aren't the newest, but it'll do. The food is awesome though! They make you pay for extra sauce though...boo! The sauce is the best part; I always douse my food in it.
The absolute pinnacle of carribbean food in the bay area. We've been frequenting the San Jose downtown location for a few years now and honestly don't remember a single instance when we were disappointed with the food. Their jerk sauce is an absolute winner. We usually always get the oxtail and salmon combo but I've tried the jerk chicken and pork as well and they are all simply mouth watering delicious. To finish off the meal I recommend the sweet potato pudding and don't forget the whipped cream on top
Any time make it to San Jose I try to make it here. It one of my favorite places for lunch and the company is always good. I am pretty sure it's just a locally owned place in down town San Jose ( which is hard to find ) and if it's not then it certainly feels authentic. In any case I recommend it if you are in the area.
This place was recommended to me by a coworker, so went with high expectations. And it delivered. I got the jerk chicken and curried goat. The jerk chicken was amazing, 5 star food! Chicken was tender, and the spice rub was perfect. The goat curry was great too, meat was tender and flavorful, only thing was it was a bit heavy on the salt which is why I took off a star. It was fine in the first bite, but once you are half way through your meal it does pinch your tastebuds. Also got the fried cornmeal which was very nice, the normal cornbread though can be given a pass. I'll be back to have some more of the Jerk chicken for sure.
This was a cool place to grab lunch. The vibe and the staff were friendly. I had a jerk chicken sandwich with fries and it was fantastic; some of the best chicken I've had. The portions were also good. I'll definitely check this place out again.
