Wow. Just killer food here. The brisket tasted more like it was braised than smoked but the BBQ chicken was smokey and was just packed with flavor.

Sides are great here too. Mac and Cheese is classic, and solidly done here. The beans have a deep dark flavor that just hits you in that perfect spot.

The first time I had the gravy and rice I knew I had to get the smothered chicken the next time I went. And it was so worth it. A peppery, dark, and thick gravy that pairs so well with both the chicken and that rice. The perfect kind of food to devour and then pair with a nice two hour nap.

The South Bay finally has a LEGIT fried chicken spot. Jackies Place serves soul and BBQ food and the comfort classics include ribs, fried chicken and more. Portions are generous and the entrees cooked with time and care and it shows in both the flavor and the friendly ambiance. The fried chicken (cooked to order) is perfection and the beef chili is a testament to the quality of the ingredients and the food. A true gem in the South Bay. Tip: order the fried chicken.

This place is amazing! The smothered chicken is incredibly tender and the gravy is delicious! Their ribs are meaty and smoky, and all of the side dishes I have had are on point. The chili beans have beef brisket, macaroni is cheesy, greens and yams are flavorful. Portions are large, so get your peach cobbler to go!

The atmosphere feels like you are at a family dinner. The staff is friendly and Jackie herself comes around to tables to say hi and greet people. I ate here for the first time a couple of months ago and have been almost every week since. Overall best soul food restaurant experience in the south bay!

Came here after seeing a friend post an Instagram picture of his food. Lily Mae’s is right down the street from us but they had temporarily closed and we were looking for another soul food spot.
This place is a gem. The staff is great. We had their fried chicken plate and the fish plate. They were both delicious. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and so juicy. The fish was the best we’ve had in the bay. The batter was crispy and the fish nearly melts in your mouth.
We’ll definitely be back to try their BBQ which they serve Thursday through Saturday.

Hands down the BEST Soul food I've ever had. The brisket was AWESOME! Tender and juicy with lots of mouthwatering flavor. Ribs were barbecued to perfection and just as tender and juicy as the brisket. Both meats were perfectly smoked! Excellent Coleslaw and chili as side dishes with the most AWESOME cornbread muffin to top off the meal. Without a doubt I will be a regular. The service was friendly, excellent and the atmosphere quaint and homey. I felt like I was visiting a friend for dinner. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal as much as I did.
