Vietnamese food, mmm, delicious. Next time I'll be back with my relatives.
Definitely good vietnamese place and also good for quick bite. If you like noodles -- it worth checking. They have free sauces and friendly personal.
It is a bit of an exaggeration to say this hole in the wall restaurant on a busy corner in downtown San Jose CA with barely any parking a 5-star dining experience, but I am rating the food here excellent. I really like this place. The cold spring rolls, goi cuon, are excellent along with the sauce. The pho Vietnamese soup is the best I have tasted anywhere, especially the #2. The Vietnamese drip iced coffee is deliciously tasty and refreshing. Dac Phus'c service is actually improving, but I would love not have to "stand and deliver" at the cashier and instead pay from my table. While the building itself looks cool, clean and modern from outside, the inside needs some attention, still it has a certain distressed charm. Nevertheless, this place is my go to place for Vietnamese food which I love and I drive the 30 minutes or so it takes to get there where I can to enjoy my favorite pho/soup. Dac Phuc has existed since the 1980's when I was a SJSU student, and there is a solid reason for its longevity, it is great. I think ingredients have suffered lately because of the skyrocketing costs for rent in the area but Dac Phuc''s pho and basil is really tasty good, the best. Someday I will have to ask where did they get such a crazy name?
Oh, and I would be remiss if I did not mention the unpleasant restroom. I really should take a star or two off for that ... it is a disgrace. Take a hint Dac Phuc and do a remodel of your restroom please!
Good food, not much atmosphere. Did I mention good food? :-)
I absolutely love Dac Phuc. I've been looking for a pho place that is up in San Francisco that can hold a candle to this place for ages and I've not found the contender just yet. The broth is crazy flavorful and not too heavy on the star anise, which I prefer. Plus the noodles are never overcooked and the service is warm and friendly.
