Second visit: super fast service, we get there around 12:14 and ordered 3 foods and 1 salad, by 1:00 pm we were heading our home!
Eggplant ???? dish taste so good! Definitely try if you don NOT care food calorie :)

Wonderful food, very large portions, one small size is enough for 3-4 persons. They need more employees though to reduce waiting time which is way longer that other restaurants.

On Sunday, 12/4/16, at or about 1530, for my first time at this corporate owned so-called family-style Italian restaurant, I ordered a small pepperoni pizza and small lasagna for take-out. The bill was around $47. They did not have change for a $100 bill. The place was not busy at all. Restaurant workers, mostly male teenagers wearing big fat red ties and reading their smartphone screens, stood around. Meanwhile, I waited and waited for my food. I looked at the pictures on the wall of old 50s family-style pictures-black/white, etc. I asked the I host if all those were pictures of the owners. He said no that they were just random pictures. I asked if Buca di Beppo was family owned. He said no, it was a corporation. I knew I was in trouble and knew I was scammed. When the food arrived and I walked out, I tried a piece of pizza and it was undercooked and not even seasoned right. I ate a few more slices and knew it was garbage. I was too far away to go back to complain and would chock up the $20 as a loss. I gave the rest of the pizza to a homeless guy walking to the light rail station. He said the pizza did not taste good either, confirming my opinion. I felt sort of good. Then I tried the lasagna. Same problem: cold, bland, undercooked, not spiced right. The cook was a kid, like the rest of the staff. They did not know what they were doing just all big smiles. After three bites, I said I will have to give this away as well. When I got off the train, I saw a familiar neighborhood homeless guy and offered him the lasagna and the bread which was hard/stale. I'm glad I did not get sick from the food. I hope this review helps someone. Don't waste your time and especially your money at Buca di Beppo. I will stick with the two places that I know and like for Italian food, both family owned and been in business for over 30 years: House of Pizza in San Jose and Luigi's Pizza in Campbell.

Our server was great, and so was our meal. However the manager that we spoke with upon entering was a jerk. We were 15 min late for our reservation. He acted like it was a big imposition to find a table for us. We had been in a retail store in the mall, being late was unavoidable due to wait time. They did seat us, and the restaurant was not filled, there were still plenty of tables. Why throw an attitude to a customer? Just do your job and be nice.

Not a huge fan of this place, but it was one of the few places open on Thanksgiving. My wife and I ate eggplant parmesan. It's served family style.

I was surprised; it tasted better than I thought it would. This is not a top-notch Italian restaurant, but good if you like the family style dining experience.

Fairly decent price for the amount of food you get. All in all I'd probably give it a three and a half star.
