Nice clean store and well stocked. I really appreciate the selection of South American products from Brazil, Peru, etc. You don't often find those. Only reason for deducting a star is the prices being very high compared to similar stores.
This review is mostly about the taqueria. They make a good burrito. All the meat choices and one of the few places in the area that actually have beef lengua (look it up) on hand every time. Slightly pricey at $12 for a “super” that comes with cheese and guacamole.
Newly opened Mexican market. Clean, bright, fully stocked. Shelves totally full, better stocked than Safeway and Lucky. Lots of unique Mexican items. For sure heading back and bringing kids to show them. Great opportunity for my kids to try out the Spanish that they are learning in school. The sweet corn tamales in the freezer section has piqued my curiosity. There's even Mexican instant ramen made by Nissan. Love seeing all the Goya brand products. 😎🤠🥳
This is for the taqueria. I really like the grocery store.I give 3 stars because I like the store…but I will never have the tacos at this taqueria again. I know this is a new store so maybe it will improve. Super tacos here are 6 bucks. I have been to many places and the super tacos have beans, cheese, a good portion of meat and avocado. This taco at Chavez was minimal meat, and tasted like a pico de gallo taco with guacamole , no beans and again … a tiny amount of meat. For 6 bucks… The Tortilla was so under cooked. And the taco gushed , sour cream , guac and shredded cheese. Sounds good right!? Well it wasn’t. It also tasted like a was just eating pico de gallo, and I couldn’t find the meat. And it was so cold from the meat not being hot and all the toppings they put were overwhelming and cold. I totally regret spending 20 bucks on 2 tacos and a drink. I’m actually sad about it. I should have known when they measured the meat that it was not going to be good. And it was not the employee who made the food’s fault ( who was obviously in training) He was following instructions from a different guy who was over his shoulder telling him what to do and then practically making the food for Him instead of letting him make the tacos. Anyhow. Never again…
