This place is a different take on buffet that I think is much less wasteful and more fun than most places.
You get two plates that you fill up, with meats or just vegetables (there are different colored bowls for that). The plates are not too big so you won't overeat on your first try.
The flavors were good and the sauce offering also good. It was very busy at lunch so go early!
Parking was okay but all of El Camino is busy.
Great place for all you can eat. If you've never been to Mongolian bbq before, you get a bowl of meat, spaghetti and vegetables, sauce it up, then the chefs grill it for you. Sides are included, the spicy chicken in particular is great.
Do not skimp on the sauce, it can be very underwhelming if your noodles come out dry. Put a scoop of each green labeled sauce in BOTH bowls, and then whatever yellow or red labeled sauces you prefer. Try the pickled vegetables.
It's going to be difficult to find a more interesting place to eat. The walls and ceilings are covered with pictures of patrons, some including hand-written testimonials. We noticed a photo of Steve Wasniak of Apple computer fame on the ceiling. The staff is fast and attentive. The food, including the meats, are put out on a buffet. You fill a tan bowl with meats, a green bowl with noodles and veggies, add some sauces, and hand the bowls off to the cooks. Your meal is cooked right in front of you on a large, circular grill. It is quite the experience. Everyone ought to eat there at least once. On the down side, the raw bar gets a little gross, and some of the food falls off the grill and onto the floor. If you're a stickler for spotlessness, prepare yourself.
Hadn't visited for about 20 years, and was pleased to discover that it is still alive and kicking. I ate with my wife +2 kids at the restaurant and it was happy with the service, the experience, and the food. My two favorite things about this place are: 1. It is all you can eat. -Hungry teens can go back through the serving line as much as they want. 2. Each individual diner can choose their own meats, noodles and veggies (or even no veggies), and the level of spiciness (or blandness)... Each meal is custom selected and then cooked by their cheg on a neat round grill before bring handed back to each diner. As if that wasn't enough, there are also buffet hot plate sides available, and soup, rice, etc.
Cons: no alcohol is served. Neighborhood is a bit sketch.
Tables are packed in pretty tightly.
-OTOH, 'No alcohol' and 'closely packed tables' could be considered Pros, as it makes for a pleasant, more intimate experience.
This is a gem in our area and you should at least go once to experience it.
Me; I love it because all four in my family can get exactly what they want; eat their fill, and walk away happy.
Service is good, and friendly too.
Amazing food, come hungry! It's all you can eat. If you haven't had Mongolian BBQ before, check the walk through on their website or ask for help when you go for the first time. It's worth the extra thought! Also friendly staff and family owned. If you haven't tried this place, you're missing out :)
