Good food. As the restaurant was closed for a special event, we ate in the bar area which was nice enough. Note: The bar and restaurant share the menu. In addition to the bar seating, they have high tables, low tables, and the one 'regular' height table. The restaurant ambiance did seem really nice
though and would have been preferred over the bar. Zzz
I had grilled salmon on romaine. It was well cooked and flavorful. My dinner partners had calamari (with some shrimp), soup, and a shrimp pasta dish. All seemed very good and with good sized portions (the soup was practically 'meal sized').
The service was good and wait staff very attentive (water refills and service checks). Timing of food delivery was plenty fast for a friendly dinner visit.
Great food, flexible chef, and quiet enough to enjoy a conversation.
Tasty restaurant in the Hilton in Santa Clara. Nice atmosphere and feels lively. I had the steak salad and it was really good. The ahi tuna appetizer was really good as well. Server was good with one super annoying caviot. They were constantly trying to up sell and encourage us to order more. Started off trying to get us to order the fixed price lunch. Then, order drinks. Then trying to push appetizers on us. Guys!! Back of and let us have lunch. This is not a car dealership
Food was just okay and it’s pricey as would be expected for a hotel restaurant. The Caesar salad was $8 but tasted sour, and not in the good, citrus kind of way but in a “maybe something was bad” kind of way. I took one bite and sent it back but was still charged for it. I asked the manager to remove it which he did without question. Ordered the cioppino for my meal which was tasty. The pasta in the broth was a unique take, but added more substance to the dish. I will say it was a bit heavier on the sauce side then the broth side. The garlic toast was delicious! All in all, your average hotel restaurant.
