One of my go-to spots in Hayes valley; their brunch on the weekend is especially delicious! Communal table seating, it can be a bit noisy, but overall cool atmosphere.
I can't believe it's taken me this long to go to this place. Great selection of lagers (tough to find in Pale Ale land) and you can get it in liters! Had some flattened meats with a mushroom sauce on it with cabbage and dumplings. It was spectacular. Wife had goulash, it was even better. Wonderful service and cozy setting. Highly recommend.
We absolutely love this place. it's dripping with charm and character. The service is always amazing, the food is as good as you'd hope and they even have a kids area out back so you can enjoy your meal while the kids play restaurant.
You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Come hungry!
The food here is excellent. Especially the German dishes. They have a full bar and make great drinks. It is a beautiful ride to get there if you take your time on the windy roads. Enjoyed our dinner very much!????
How can you go wrong with tankards of German beer and Bavarian costumed wait staff? We only had soup and drinks so I can't speak for the main dishes, but the beef burgundy soup was delicious; rich and creamy with ample chunks of tender beef, although a tad salty for our taste. The open-air patio set in the redwoods (and one growing up through the covered patio) make this a delightful stop worth your time on Highway 9.
