Betty's Noodle House

One of the best Chinese/Asian restaurants in Santa Cruz. They have a huge selection of noodle soups, noodle dishes, Asian sodas, and more. Staff are friendly and service is great. Its location in the bus stop was off-putting to me until I actually came in and tried the food. Now, it's just super convenient.

Pretty extensive menu with vegetarian and vegan options that are fairly clearly marked on the menu. Portion sizes are large and very filling. I personally got the spicy kimchi rice with tofu as the base, but there's also chicken, veggie, and beef options for most dishes as well. There's indoor and outdoor seating options, or you can get your food to go as well.

Love the vibe and price point here. Get in line to order and then find a table. Fast service means quick turnover. People aren't really lingering. First time here and we got the spicy green bean dish with chicken, which was really good. Spicey, gingery and a bit sweet. Good portion size served over noodles. We also got the sesame soup with veggies. It was tasty. Less spicy and also somewhat sweet. Very sesame. I enjoyed it but probably would get something different next time, partly because there are so many interesting sounding options! We also got the green onion pancakes which were some of the best I've had. They were so light and flakey, almost croissant like in texture. We will be back to try more! Good deal for the price. Tasty and laid back.

Teriyaki chicken was very flavorful. I would recommend that. Very hot and stuffy inside the building. There is a lovely outdoor dining patio so eat outside!
