Awesome excellent food, welcoming environment, with plenty of parking, competitive prices. Great for all ages. Ideal for families, reunions, celebrations of all types.Attire is whatever you want it to be. It is a working class sort of element. Extensive gift shop. Location is easy peasy immediately off the frwy exit. Gigantic sign makes it so easy to find. Waiting time was quick to table, and the place was jumping at the lunch hour. Service was 5 star and we received our meals promptly. Over all it's a definite YES!!!
A friend and I came around noon; she chose breakfast and I chose lunch! We were seated shortly after arriving--this is a big place with lots of tables. My friend ordered Eggs Benedict, and said they were delicious. Cooked perfectly with a delicious hollandaise sauce, and a side of country potatoes. I ordered from the 55+ menu and got the 1/2 sandwich, soup, and salad. It even ended with a scoop of ice cream! The soup of the day was navy bean with ham and was really delicious. I ordered the Tri-tip on sourdough. The meat tasted great but was a bit tough. The salad was nice sized with dressing on the side--nice touch. The decaf coffee was some of the best I have had at a restaurant, and I drink it black. Great meal for two for $30 plus tip. PS. Servings here are generous.
This place is cute and clean, with friendly staff. The food is diner food, but usually fresh and tastes good. They have interesting specials (sweet potato waffles the day I was there). I got a breakfast burrito. It was big enough to make 2 meals for me and came with a large bowl of fruit. It can get busy, but lines move quickly.
We have been having breakfast at Black Oak for over 25 years. We enjoy the food, portions, staff, service, and takeout. My mother enjoys the senior menu. Breakfast for two was great for our family of 4 and budget before they began ordering from children's menu which they absolutely loved. They are now adults and still look forward to breakfast at Black Oak.
Good eats, reasonable prices. Portions are reasonable too. If you eat a lot such as myself I would consider going elsewhere where they load you up a bit more. But other than that, 90% of people will have a good time eating here.
