Everything they make is great. If I'm not buying at Mom's - I'm buying at Kozlowski. I love their pepper jelly. Hmmmm. Ritz, cream cheese and their pepper jelly on it. What kind of pepper jelly? All of em. Depends on the day and my mood. Sometimes I buy two or three bottles. My lovely wife will ask me when I get home or back to the car - "where's the pie?" ... oh yeah ... so back in I will go .. get that bottle of pepper jelly I was on the fence about, have another sample of what ever they're sampling (it's all good) and then .. maybe I'll forget the pie again, maybe I won't. But, usually about the third time - she will tell me she's taking me to the ER for a stroke check, or, she'll get out and get the pie herself to save me from buying more stuff. Yep. I know how to play THIS game.

We love the jams. It is one of our traditions every time we come to the Russian River wine country. Friendly staff, too!

I will never get these type of stores? What do they sell really? Overpriced jams and hot sauces? I don't get the point.

If you want pie please visit the Moms Apple Pie down the street.

I first heard about Kozlowski Farms pies when I went to a local restaurant. I ordered the blackberry pie that had a crumb topping. The texture was terrible! It was as they blended blackberry pie filling in a good processor and used that as the filling. So dense with no whole pieces of berries.

Then to the store. It happened to be on my way home so I stopped in. From the outside the store is clean and newer. I wouldn’t describe the inside as a country store, but rather a showcase of their products. They did have many tastings stations set up which were fun.

Sadly the various products I tried were just average. The jams and jellies were overly sweet and didn’t have a pure fruit flavor. I’m sure they are made with fruit, but it had a mite commercial flavor. I ended up buying a jar of apple butter, but it’s not very good either. It runs like honey, and is too spicy. I love apple butter and this one is just odd.

Lastly I got an apple hand pie to go. The crust was super thick and the apple filling was sweet and goopy. It had the taste of canned apple pie filling. The apples slices were scarcely scattered inside.

I think Kozlowski farms use to be a nice family farm and store. Now it’s a commercial enterprise that lost its touch.
