Quality charcuterie board
Love, love, love this very special butcher shop. I feel so fortunate to have them so close by. I eat all of my meat raw, so have a very refined palate when it comes to quality, flavor, and freshness. As a former vegetarian, minimizing suffering is a big priority for me, and all of their meat comes from animals that were raised on pastures with sunshine and healthy feed. I have tried a variety of cuts and so far I have not been disappointed. The pork belly is phenomenal, and the ground beef is the best I've ever had. They grind it to order, and you can specify fat content and grind size (I usually get 40% fat, largest grind setting--so fresh and delicious). The employees are always friendly and down to earth, and don't even flinch when I ask for a sample, as conventional butcher departments usually do. I just wish they accepted EBT, otherwise I'd do all my meat shopping there!
I'm totally biased about this place but if you want some really good food, it is so much more than just a butcher shop. Sandwiches - the best! Try the picnic boxes, great food, no fuss. Make sure to get the bacon/leek shortbread cookies! Company coming for dinner? Have Travis make you one of his signature porchettas to roast, you will be a star in the kitchen. Cocktail party? Order one of the charcuterie boards - all meats/terrines/salumi are made on-site and you won't find better. Looking for a great meal and a good time? Amazing attention to detail quality of the meat as outstanding. Very knowledgeable butchers. I once went in for a rack of ribs and the butcher pulled out a half hog and cut one out for me outstanding. My only complaint is once you have a pork chop or ground beef from this place you can no longer go anywhere else.
