Had a great time at Kapu this past weekend! Chris was an amazing bartender and made fantastic drinks, and B was an amazing and friendly hostess. I got to talk to Mike for a few minutes, and he knew so much about the tiki culture and was super cool! Would recommend this tiki bar to anyone visiting Northern California! 🧉
First time there and it was a tropical treat! The fun atmosphere and comfortable seating made me want to stay longer. We went late afternoon, so not sure how the night life is. Our tiki drinks and food were delicious and the service was top notch. Looking forward to taking friends there for drinks sometime soon.
Service was great, drinks were STIFF , they did an amazing job with the decor. The food was super good but s little small. And shout out to my server. She made my experience there go flawlessly. They also have Tiki Mugs! If you buy a mug and pay $3 more bucks you get a drink of your choice in said mug!!!
Experience based on cocktails (no food). Kapu is a cool new tiki bar and restaurant. Was excited to finally come and visit. We put our name down for a bar seat (approx 30min wait) and then just ordered drinks at the bar and sat near the pinball tables. Drinks are $16 for all classic cocktails and there are a few at $15. At the $16 price point I expected a legit tiki drinks full of flavor and that is not what we got. We ordered a zombie and a jungle bird. Both were lackluster and not balanced. The jungle bird was heavy handed on Campari and it over powered this classic cocktail. The drinks were not a good value for the price point and was also overly juicy, so we decided to just call it after one round. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is pretty cool, but it's more a family friendly centric tiki bar restaurant compared to others in the bay area, there was quite a lot of kids there when we visited (which is not a bad thing, just helps set expectations as this is more geared towards a restaurant atmosphere than a bar.) If in the future they offer a happy hour, would definitely try them again but it's a bit steep for what you get on cocktails so it's not really my bag.
Petaluma has a new amazing bar! Welcome Kapu! What an amazing night! The food was great; I highly recommend the garlic chicken, poke nachos and the adobe fried rice. The drinks were creative and so yummy but most of all the service was exceptional. You must visit Kapu! We can’t wait to go back!
