La Gare

I've been coming here since I was little with my parents. I've never been disappointed in it. The servers build rapport with the customers and the experience is so much more than just great food.

Wow! Mark graciously sat us and explained the specials. He's been there for many years and now we know why! Nice atmosphere, great food: I had the special of the evening: halibut (tender,, not overcooked, lightly sauced), partner had sweetbreads (excellent). Wine choices and more about the specials were addressed by our server Tim, who was very attentive. We had made reservations at the restaurant online for 5PM as the final train headed south left at 7PM. We had a little time left over after dessert, we were sorry to have had to leave, it was like having your wonderful French dinner cooked for you in your home.

We try to dine at La Gare whenever we visit Santa Rosa. My wife has certain food allergies and it had been two years between visits from the last time we had dined at La Gare. We were seated for dinner and by shear coincidence, our server was the same server who had waited on us on our previous visit two years earlier. What was incredibly impressive to us, is that our server remembered us and my wife's allergies. Wow! This is just one of the reasons it will always be one of our favorite restaurants hands down, the food and service are fabulous!

BEST meal I've had in a long time. A group of us dined at La Gare last weekend and everything was top notch. From the amazing food, we all had something different, to the superb service, it's no wonder they were busy and been in business for 40 years! Every entrée comes with soup and salad, who does that anymore?
If you haven't been there, don't wait any longer, you will not be disappointed!

I had the pleasure of dining at La Gare a few weeks ago and I have to say, it's never a disappointment ! Excellent service tops off their fabulous cuisine.
