Great food, reasonable prices. The chicken tikka masala is great. I love that you can specify how spicy you want any dish, and recommend starting with a 2 on their spiciness scale (1 to 5) and working your way up if you like more spice. Beware, the higher levels are quite spicy!
You would think that a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in a strip mall wouldn't have some world-class Indian, Tibetan and Nepalese cuisine for a great price, but you would be wrong. We ordered the dinner for 2 for $40, which included choice of 2 entrees, appetizers and dessert for one price and everything, everything!, was just heavenly. And we were stuffed. A month ago we paid quite a bit more at another new "trendier" Indian restaurant downtown, and while everything there was great too, Cumin's food was just all about the flavor and technique. Wish I had taken a picture, but I know I will be back soon.
Waiter/owner (?) was super nice and decor was okay (holdover from the previous Thai restaurant that was there). But I fail to see how the food is getting such raves. The curries were average. There are other places in town with tastier Himalayan-style foods.
The samosas were really great, light not heavy. The other dishes were also good. Fun banter
Just tried this most excellent restaurant for lunch. Absolutely delicious. Great gracious service, very clean and pleasant atmosphere. Great pricing for lunch and very reasonable for dinner. Lots of plant based options for me and great meat dishes for all others too. I am pleased to have a great Indian restaurant in Santa Rosa. Thank you Cumin for the great new place.
