Boxcar Fried Chicken and Biscuits

Chicken was good and crispy. Moist on the center with good flavor. I don’t know why any one would say there isn’t any flavor. It seems to be consistent when we go there.
The waffles were fluffy and sweet.
If you came to the Fremont Diner before then you know the inside seating isn’t the best but there’s plenty of outdoor seating.

Kinda odd place. It's in the middle of nowhere.. Hard to find on a rainy night (the driveway doesn't have great signage). -Maybe because it was my 1st time there?
I got the chicken (breast and wing) and waffles. The waffle is so-so (I've had WAY better and WAY worse).
The chicken was not good. Lots of seasoned breading. 60% breading and 40% chicken (seriously).
Wife got the Country Gentleman. Legs & Thigh (tons of breading). The biscuit was dry. The coleslaw was so-so. The mash n gravy was decent.
We shared a cookies n cream shake and it was very good.

We had been here in the past when it was Fremont Diner and love it. But now we feel that it is even better. The changes that they've made have all been for the better. The food is even better than it was before and the ambiance is great. We had fried chicken and waffles, chicken fingers and fried artichokes. Everything was cooked to perfection and tested amazing. I can't wait to go back!

I was so sad when I discovered that Fremont Diner had closed. However, Boxcar is great and I won't let my sadness taint my review. Nashville hot chicken sandwich? Excellent. Grits? Excellent. Banana cream pie? Oh my goodness!
