Brought the kids up to visit their grandfather on spring break found some of the best soul food outside of the South I have ever eaten! every dish was executed perfectly. the catfish was fluffy fried perfectly. chicken was excellent the gumbo divine, and the sides ! yams were just perfect not too sweet the greens had real ham hocks in them, the mac and cheese is right on. The cabbage with onions an bacon all perfect buttery. oh man the pork chop was super good seasoning done just right fried to perfection! My son had the catfish po-boy he loved it! And the deserts!! We ordered the banana pudding and the bourbon pecan walnut pie wow thank you Jesus ! excellent into a fantastic meal. Met the owners and they were wonderful the service was excellent the atmosphere family-oriented and show us what the doctor ordered. Trust me when I tell you, this is a must stop if you're looking for some home cooking really well executed southern food this is your place go get some!

Tasty food. Large portions. Just know it's southern cooking so don't expect to loose weight. Sunday brunch was tasty good but short on veggies and fruit. Friendly folks and no shortage of customers.

Surprised at reading other reviews. Was raised in South Georgia and felt transported back to a family fish fry. Was so good could not wait to dig into leftovers! For those giving bad reviews...y'all crazy! This is the best and I will be going often!

Delicious! Every dish is loaded with flavor. The restaurant itself is very clean and we'll decorated. The prices are fair for the serving sizes. Will definitely be coming back. 10/10

The best restaurant in modesto! You will not be disappointed! I had the 2 meat and 2 sides meal (meat loaf, catfish, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy) it was $18.95 and enough for dinner and lunch the next day. Super flavorful, cooked perfect, large portions, clean restaurant, friendly staff!
