Burger King

The King of Burger, a once venerable title that no longer carries the same weight. With so many lords and vassals creating their own take of the Ham-Burger, the King becomes lost in the shuffle. His greatest threat comes from a jester named Sir Ronald who has his own establishment one exit away south upon the freeway of 99. You can also find one of my personal favorites nearby if you are one who prefers doing it Animal Style when they engage in the old In-N-Out.

Listen, the produce at King Burger is soggy and the decor is straight 1986. In a land built on Democracy, nobody gives a damn about Kings anymore.

The food is fine, good as ever, it's Burger King. But where it lacks, is the bathroom. The men's bathroom has no door on the toilet stall, and there is no soap or paper towels. Not that it matters, but another oddity was that the sink is literally down a hall. It's just unusual.

Listen, it's Burger King. I'm not rating this 5 stars because the food is the most incredible stuff I've ever put in my mouth. Nor is this restaurant's offerings distinguished from the BK food you're going to get...well...at any other BK.

What sets THIS store out above and beyond any other BK I've been to is Michael. When I got to the store, I was greeted warmly, my jacket was complimented, and Michael was genuinely a nice guy. As I ate my food and read my book, I heard him greet every customer in the same way, always with something nice to say. When he realized they gave me the wrong size fries, he brought me another order of fries.

To be perfectly honest, I never thought I'd be writing an online review of a fast food joint. You go there for familiarity, not to seek out exceptional food or customer service. The customer service I received last night stood out, and this store deserves to be recognized for Michael's service. That guy represented the Burger King brand better than anyone who has ever served me a Whopper. Thanks!
