Sakura Ojai

I tested all the sushi places in Ojai and I keep coming back to this place. I think they are the best. Always busy and reasonable priced

I really enjoy Sakura Sushi, the menu is relatively inexpensive for sushi, and the quality of the fish is more than satisfactory.

I prefer to go here during lunch hours due to the Lunch Special Menu. My favorite thing to get on that menu is the two roll combo; it comes with your choice of the selected rolls, a bowl of miso soup, and a salad with a choice of peanut and ginger dressing (the ginger is my favorite).

Sakura Sushi has a lovely calm atmosphere, and the staff is amiable. My only gripe with Sakura Sushi is that the fish does not seem as fresh as the quality of fish at Hakane Sushi. However, there is only a slight distinction between the two.

I would highly recommend Sakura Sushi to anyone that wants sushi at a price that does not break the bank.

This place does make some pretty good food, say, the Korean dishes or a California roll. But I just had some Hamachi (yellowtail sashimi) that came straight from a thawing fish, straight from frozen. Cold and kinda nasty.

Simply out, the best sushi in the Ojai valley. Dine-in experience isn't necessarily amazing but staff and chefs are friendly and welcoming, or you can also just carry out and enjoy at home.

Very good food and price is inexpensive. Service is also good. I will go back if I am in the area.
