The Lookout Bar & Grill

Bar food and the feeling here is better than most. I wanted to post a food pic but it looked so good I couldn't stop. The place has a nice feel to it. Feels similar to a restaurant in New York I liked.

I got a recommendation from Yelp to visit this place so I figured why not and the photos of the food really drew me in. It's Friday and the hubby and I need some fun. As soon as I went in a sign read "seat yourself" so we did. We sat at a table and waited about 10 minutes to be served but no one came. There were people hanging out and talking. Walking back and forth from the patio to the bar. It feels more like a private club for friends who know each other and are hanging out so more like a bar and not so much a grille. It looked a bit rundown as well. If this is your vibe then check it out but not at all what I was expecting or hoping for. Maybe I just came on a bad day. I would give it more stars but we never got to order so I can't speak for the food or drinks.

Went on a Wednesday night and really enjoyed the open mic night (live karaoke)! Bar tender was friendly and quick to serve you! Welcoming atmosphere. Great bar food. Fun view out into harbor.

The owner of the lookout called me for some routine maintenance on the plumbing. While servicing the establishment I was amazed at the cleanliness and general organization of the bar. I'm in all the bars in town now and then as I am the emergency plumber in Oxnard and I am able to compare the cleanliness of all of them and I must say the lookout is by far the cleanest bar I have ever serviced . I would have no problem picking up a peanut off the floor and putting it in my mouth. This place is clean the staff is great and if I were a drinker this would be the only place in town for me.

One of the very best Mexican kitchens ever! Service is excellent. Folks are in line to be seated or picking up dinner on their way home. All folks must visit to enjoy wonderful flavors and textures and don't forget the mole'.
