El Capitan Fresh Mexican Grill and Seafood

Good service and very conscious of COVID-19 policies. Food tasted fresh and reasonable prices, especially during happy hour.

Nice new Mexican seafood restaurant in Simi Valley. First time there. I had to try the Paella and was pleasantly surprised. It was very good even though it was missing the chicken (included in the menu description). The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is paella must be served with bread rolls for sopping up all the goodness! When I asked they only had tortillas....just not the same. Service was good. Atmosphere pleasant. Pretty good $6 Happy Hour margaritas. I'll be back to try some of the more traditional Mexican fare!

We had drinks which were excellent. Service was great and the burrito my wife and I split was the best. Outstanding restaurant, hope you all can find the time to patronize this new business in Simi Valley.

Food was great, service was okay my server could have been better off with a little more training...but 3 stars are probably generous after feeling cheated lol. The sign at the entrance needs to be updated according to whatever decisions are made that day that may conflict with it. For example, today after being stuck at home for so long this is the first place you go out to eat at and feeling cheated because of a sign at the entrance of the restaurant. Yeah I like the food, the service is better than I’ve been told about the previous restaurant, but you gotta be at the top of your game if you’re trying to get people to be regulars at your restaurant. I know it doesn’t matter nor will it impact the restaurant's success but I’m not going back.

I really enjoyed it! Had a simple burrito with beef, was a takeout and the service was fast and we only waited about 15 minutes.

Friend had shrimp tacos or something similar and she was really happy with how it turned out.

We both scraped our plates and are planning on several return trips once in dining is allowed again.

Also I liked the music!
