Ordered the filet mignon (with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables) and the mushroom risotto with filet mignon.

The complimentary bread more of a biscuit than bread, but it was delicious. A little dry but it paired well with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Mushroom risotto with filet was accurately cook to medium but they didn't really season the meat. The risotto was thick and gooey with cheese. It had a nutty taste like brown rice but it was good. Super heavy though! I wish they had included something to lighten the meal. The pieces of parmesan on top were huge! So thick and large that it seemed to fuction more as a weird garnish. They also love to finish all of their plates with balsamic vinegar. In the end it was good but suuuuper salty!

The filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables was accurately cooked to medium-rare. Though the balsamic vinegar they finished the plate in did not work with the red wine reduction they used. The two sauces fought for supremacy on your tastebuds. The vegetables were fresh and perfectly charred. The garlic mashed potatoes were suuuper creamy and full of flavor!

My favorite part of the meals were the roasted vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes.

Atmosphere: It was quiet, no one else was there on that Wednesday night. The check was paid in cash and they barely had enough in the till to break two fifties. The owner could be seen hovering around the restaurant and the few staff members she has. It was strange to watch her ask the waiter to polish table legs while they had customers. Typically that should be done after hours. The place felt like it is often slow.

I am from Oklahoma and am accustomed to fresh, grass-fed beef. My steak palate is very refined. I haven't even been happy with a $150 Masteo's filet out here. But the mushroom risotto with filet is the best steak I have had in my 2 years here! I will be back regularly!!!

I really like this place and Ventura is in need of some decent places to eat and this is one of them. There food is prepared well and tastes good. I had the lobster ravioli with champagne sauce and peas. I love the pop off peas in this dish. This restaurant is fairly new so go and try it so it stays in business!

Great happy hour deals and the food is so delicious. They have some very unique cocktails too, definitely a must visit.
