Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant

We've been going to the Rio for more than 25 years (at previous locations in Boulder and other locations in Ft. Collins and Denver), so it holds a special place in our hearts. Everyone knows the food is pretty good, but you really come for the margaritas, and at this location, the rooftop dining area. Love it.

Really enjoyed the food but the waitress forgot to tell us there was a happy hour going on when we ordered our drinks. Then we asked for extra sauce for the fried jalapenos when we got the bill she added $1.50 for a tiny ramekin of the sauce, never mentioned there was a charge for it and why would it be more than 50 cents? When I questioned it she was quick to take it off and said they charge for everything, I said you should always let your customers know if something is extra before you charge them. She seemed to have no clue why. I worked in hospitality for yrs And if my servers added charges without the knowledge of the guests they would get in trouble. Such a bad practice.

Food was amazing!! So delicious, our server Noah was the best server ever, he was so great & polite! Made conversation with us and was very friendly!! Great customer service, will definitely ask for him as our server again.

We had a large table (around 18 people) and still had excellent, efficient service. Even a manager stopped by every so often to check if anyone needed things and helped bring drinks. Paying the bill was no problem. Our server was fantastic as were the food and drinks. I'd definitely go back and recommend it to anyone in Boulder.

Rio Grande is one of my favorites! Great food. Great drinks. Excellent atmosphere. Danielle and everyone else is super friendly. Highly recommended!!!
