Wow, this place blew us away! You can tell the food is made with love from scratch. The service was great and everything was delicious. I really liked the atmosphere, very homey. I had the trout breakfast and my wife had the corned beef hash. Excellent. Pancakes with the homemade cinnamon syrup was out of this world! The jam was delectable. Our server was attentive and fast and even though we overheard another table being super demanding and making lots of special requests that had her running back and fourth bringing them stuff, she had a great attitude. And lastly the prices are unbeatable. This will be our go to spot from now on.
Good, hearty southern breakfast. Excellent service, no wait on a holiday. Not sure if there's much more to ask for. No hipsters in sight. If you want a delicious, filling meal and no frills and reasonable prices, come here!
We had the chicken fried steak with fruit instead of potatoes and a biscuit and the gumbo. Both were great, perfectly seasoned and delicious. The biscuits were enormous, savory served with house made jams. Beignets were tasty, but not as light and fluffy as you can get in New Orleans. Coffee was hot, and service was great. Highly recommend.
Nicely accessible with a touch of Creole, I have been to this cafe multiple times since I have lived here. Perhaps it's not as fancy as Lucile's Creole Cafe, but the location is well-lit, spacious and classic in an American diner-style way. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. The menu has gone through a few iterations since I started visiting; there are grits and beignets but also some classic offerings for the less adventurous eaters. And THE LARGEST biscuits I have ever seen. Not especially friendly for the gluten-free folk, but this place would be a crowd pleaser for most families and groups.
First time there and didn’t know what to expect! Don’t let the outside appearance fool you! This restaurant has a very easy going atmosphere and amazing food! I loved their chicken fried chicken and even their ranch was delicious! Great service and over all the great experience! Will definitely come back again!
