If you want a blue cheese burger with nothing more why do they serve all the fixings. If you want a medium burger with pink good luck. I've had two in a week and both were well done.
Always a Boulder/Longmont staple! Oskar Blues restaurant is fantastic and the food is always delicious. After dinner you can always visit their tasting room just a short distance away called The Tasty Weasel. Their beers are fantastic and plenty of choices too!
We had passed by it several times for trips in and out of the town and usually had been too busy to stop. Best spontaneous stop ever. The place is unique and the staff are extremely friendly and attentive to your needs. The beer and food were amazing. Putting this on our todo list for all upcoming trips into the area.
We went here being new in town because they are my favorite beer. Little did we know the food is absolutely amazing too. The menu will leave you mouth watering while you try to decide. And don't be afraid to ask the staff is very helpful and friendly. This place is amazing.
Our experience last night was a bit of a mixed bag.
The appetizers we had were great - the nachos, the catfish nuggets, and the truffle fries were fantastic.
Dinner was less noteworthy. My coworkers reported variously "the salad was great!" and "the burger was fine." I got the Brisket with a side of slaw and mashed potatoes and gravy. The slaw tasted like it had been made a day or two prior and sat in the refrigerator overnight. I had two bites and left the rest. The potatoes were good. The Brisket was a bit dry and I asked for BBQ sauce to make it palatable - with the sauce it was decent. I would not order it again.
The beer was pretty good, but unfortunately overshadowed by 'A Very' good brewery we went to the previous night.
The service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly, prompt, and professional. No complaints at all about service.
We noticed when we arrived that there was a band carrying instruments into the restaurant and setting up the stage upstairs. We got halfway through our meal before they fired up. Once they got started, it became clear that no matter where you sat in the restaurant, you were there to listen to the band. The band was upstairs, we were downstairs, but we had to shout across the table to have any hopes of communicating - it was very loud. Conversation was hopeless. We finished our meal quickly, paid, and left. Had I known beforehand, I would have perhaps chosen somewhere else to eat - I came to have a meal with coworkers, not go to a blues concert.
The band did sound great, though; just not what we came for.
