Absolutely the best Mexican food in town. Big portions. Great taste. Decently fast. Lots of options. Fantastic (and cheap) house margarita in a glass the size of a human head.

Casa Alegre is a Mexican restaurant conveniently situated in downtown Louisville.

The restaurant is pretty spacious, and seems like it can accommodate large groups and a large number of people in genera, both inside, and outside when the weather is temperate. The atmosphere and decorations are fun and well-done, lending itself to a somewhat festive atmosphere.

The margaritas are a main draw for this location; there is a large variety to choose from, as well as a large variety of sizes (ranging from 'normal' sizes to absurdly large - it's a fun concept!) The classic margarita is one of my favorites in the area.

The food selection contains all of the staples, though I found the fajitas to be particularly good.

Service was okay; when we went to this location, there didn't seem to be a large number of staff, and it took some time to refill beverages. Moreover, while it was not a big deal, our server forgot to bring out a few small items we'd ordered as well. We weren't charged for them, however, and didn't have to deal with correcting the bill.

The prices are slightly expensive, though that's somewhat expected given the location in downtown Louisville. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I expect that we'll come back again for another meal.
