If you are driving through Idaho Springs you MUST stop and eat Colorado Rocky Mountain pizza!! It is a staple of the town and the pizzas are just simply amazing! Make sure to put the local honey on the crust and bring a huge appetite!! Service is fun and friendly! The restaurant itself is very unique and beautiful! I have been coming here over 30 years and love it every time! A must try if you are passing through, convenient location right off I-70 there is a waterfall you can see just go to the back parking lot and walk over to it, Indian hot springs is close also!

I've been eating at Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs since I was a kid. It's definitely a mountain landmark & a great place to stop by on the way home from the slopes. I haven't been here for a few years so on a daytrip to Idaho Springs I thought I'd stop by for one of their famous mountain pies. The restaurant was exactly as I remembered it, sprawling across half a block of downtown, packed with people. The atmosphere is fantastic, you feel like you've been transported back to the mining boom. Antiques & old mining equipment are everywhere. The service is great, although it can take some time to get your food because there are so busy. I had one of their signature mountain pies with a ginormous crust. I eat the slice first then save & the crust for dessert slathered with honey. It's crispy crust covers a soft, doughy inside. It really doesn't matter what you choose for toppings, everything is delicious. I always make sure to order extra pizza so I can take the leftovers home & eat them later!!!

Quaint little town. I love the feel that people walked those streets hundreds of years ago, in a different era. And the restaurant gives me that same feeling. I walk in, look around, and I can feel the spirit of days past. Then there's this cool mining shaft in the back of the restaurant. The brick on the walls is old and crumbly. You must come in and feel the days of old for yourself.
Now for the food! The salad bar is fresh with a variety of toppings, the pizza is delicious, although I prefer a thin crust, but I did enjoy eating the thick crust with honey.
The pasta is delicious too and uniquely served in a bowl of crust. Come by! You'll enjoy the food and visit.

I really enjoy this location. I believe this is the original location for this one of a kind pizza restaurant. After a long day on the slopes, soaking in a hot mineral pool, or just up for the day in the hills, this location has great variety of things to eat. Traditionally they are known for their mountain pie, which has a large thick crust, that drizzled with honey, is amazing. My wife is a keto eater, so we are quite satisfied with their cauliflower crust pizza. They also consider that gluten free. Win-win for all. Not to mention a great salad bar that rests in two claw foot tubs. There is a full bar that offers plenty of craft brews and other drinks, and you have a great location to wind down and fill your belly!

Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs is an all time classic. They have been serving pizza for a very long time. The lines can be long at times to wait to get a table but it's definitely worth the wait. Have you ever heard of eating the pizza crust with honey? Well this is the place. That is delicious, this is basically what they are known for. The reason I don't give it five stars is because the pizza itself is not the greatest pizza I've ate. The times that I've gotten it, as I bite into the deep dish slice; all the cheese comes off the slice. You're then left with a slice of dough in one hand and the cheese and toppings hanging from your mouth. It's worth a stop!
