Bastien's Restaurant

The service and the food were just wonderful. Bastions is kind of a classic standard place because it's so popular, but it's anything but run of the mill. Very high degree of personal attention and service. The desserts we had were absolutely off the charts. I had the sizzling apple pie with ice cream and it was worth the price of the extra calories, lol! If you're on this part of Colfax, and want a truly delightful time with friends and great food, DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE!

Very good steak, with many options for toppings. The brown sugar on it gives a unique flavor and texture while keeping a lot of the juices in that you would lose otherwise. The roasted vegetables were perfect and the twice baked potato was one of the best I have ever had. Not too pricy either. Totally recommend it.

Absolutely loved the restaurant. Great people running the restaurant. What appeared to the manager/owner never stopped the entire evening. The Apps, salad, entree and dessert were excellent. I would highly recommend. We enjoy going to locally owned establishments and Bastien's has a long history of serving great food at a reasonable price.

We love this place. Old school cool all the way, from the building itself, to the professional yet courteous service. And the food. The sugar steak is a marvel, a charred exterior with just enough spice to accent the meat. The edible flowers on the plate take me back to the 80s, unfortunately, so do the steam table veggies, a real afterthought, but that's not why you go there. Last time had a couple minor problems, my steak was just barely over done, and everything needed a hint of salt. But trust me, we'll be back.

This old school Denver staple is alive and thriving for a reason. Known for their sugar steak rub and variety of potatoe sides, Bastien's is a steakhouse on historic Colfax Ave. The neon sign and vintage exterior continue to a Deco and Palm Springs style interior. Ownership have maintained a clean and updated space without sacrificing the endearing dated feel. The menu prices are relatively expensive ($24-$38 entrees) but competitive with other steak restaurants. The cocktail menu however is a couple dollars cheaper than you might expect. On a recent Tuesday night, the dining room had a 45 minute wait so reservations are recommend.
