Hubby and I stopped in for lunch. I got the 1/2 lb pulled pork shoulder and hubby got 2 meat combo with pork shoulder and brisket. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. Beer glasses were frosted which was a nice touch. The flavor was spot on, no sauce needed. However the pork needed to be better trimmed. Easily 1/3 of portion was fat. We told our server just as a suggestion for future and she took 10% off the bill. Very much appreciate them making it right!
Wow - has the best pork sandwich of my life... Super tender, fell apart with the crunchy onions and hot BBQ sauce. . . YUM! My husband loved the jalapeno and cojita sausage and said it was the best he has had as well. Go get this food! Bartender was super friendly.
I would’ve gave it a 4 but the cashiers either were new or just have a distaste for good customer service. The other guy who helped us made up for their unsatisfactory performance. The bbq was all good but the beans were not overcooked and mushy. Potato salad and brisket baked potato were delicious. Probably won’t return but definitely was good if you happen to be in the area looking for a minimum wait time.
A bit inconsistent compared to opening weekend. I will argue however that this is the best brisket you can get in Denver. The brussel sprouts at opening were life-changing, the separated the stems and the individual leaves were evenly coated in sauce and sauteed, it was like a crispy, heavenly bowl of popcorn. On my most recent trip this was not the case, they seamed boiled or steamed and lightly fried. I have not been able to have consistent orders from this establishment. The protein is great, the service is awesome, I wish the rest of the menu was more consistent.
Surprisingly good BBQ in Denver!!! Wow. They had beef ribs on special on Saturday, which ended up being a pound & a half for one rib. Reminded me of Valentina's Texas BBQ stand in Austin, which is incredible.
They don't have cornbread, but they do have amazing jalapeno mac-n-cheese. Since it is cafeteria style, you can watch them prepare and slice up your food selection before you buy. I thought the beer selection at the bar could have been better, but the quality of food made up for that.
