Pricey for BBQ especially for someone who lives in the South. I think our bill for 2 was about $50-60 and we didn't order drinks. Their french fries have an acquired taste/flavor to them. However, the food is very yummy here, would go back to!
Been here several times, and the various meats are always tender and flavorful. The sides are also very good. Great BBQ
Corn bread was delicious. A bit expensive $17 a person before drinks. Sauce was tasty. Food came out so quickly. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lemonade had no sugar. Ginger ale tasted like Ginger beer.
I was really excited to try this place - I had heard great things about the smoked mushrooms, and the smoked salmon sounded amazing. However when I went on a Saturday night and tried to order a half lb of smoked salmon to split with my boyfriend, I was told that they were out of salmon. I then tried to order the smoked mushrooms - they were out. I'm pescetarian, so these were my only options. I got a side salad (because friends were eating here and I was staying to be social), only to see a girl in my party eating a salmon sandwich later on in the evening. I had told the cashier that everything I could eat was fish or veggies - I would have hoped he'd say they still had a salmon sandwich rather than selling me a 5 dollar small salad.
Everyone else in my party said their food was good - hence the 4 stars, but I wish I could have tried it
Two reviews for Smok...
The good first. The BBQ is quite good, especially for Colorado that desperately needs more good BBQ. I've been fortunate enough to come from a southern family and try BBQ all over including MO. The meat here has good a smoke ring, the dry rub is quite tasty too. They serve it in traditional format with white bread and sauce on the side. I'd recommend Smok for people who know how BBQ is supposed to be.
The not so good, which has nothing to do with the food. The bar bill for a double Titos and cranberry...$20.50! Are you flipping kidding me? The review would have been better if not for this nasty surprise. This isn't a cruise ship and drinks shouldn't be this expensive even if it is Denver.
Smok, responding as they did above say's a lot. I will definitely be back to Smok and look forward to them expanding into a larger format restaurant in Denver! Thank you for being responsive and bring good BBQ from St. Louis
