The restaurant atmosphere felt strange and silent. There was no staff in sight when we walked in. A few minutes later, someone came out and told us to sit “over there” so we just picked a table ourselves. The ramen is good. It’s not Japan quality so don’t expect that anywhere in Colorado but it’s Colorado Springs quality. The broth is tasty and the pork belly is good but some parts were tough and overcooked. The noodles could be a bit softer.
I am new to the large city life style. There were no fancy Ramen places where I moved from so when I heard about Oka Ramen I had to try it and wow is all I can say. It is so so good. I originally went to Oka Ramen off of centennial and while I like that location I prefer Oka Ramen 2. I found the food tastes the same at both locations, Oka Ramen 2 is open on Sunday's which is a huge plus for me and my family.
I would love to give this place 5 stars, the food is really good. My main problem is that the service here is horrible. Always so slow, orders never seem to be not correct. One time My husband and I only ordered two spicy tan-tans and the waitress brought us an appetizer. When we said we didn’t order an appetizer she was like it’s on your bill already do you want it? Refills are hard to get even if it’s slow.
Regardless of the always changing staff, the food is amazing and that’s why we keep going back.
So, ramen pages tend to have signatures; some do great noodles, some do great toppings, etc. This one does fantastic stock. You can tell that they start with bones and they cook it all night long. Amazing.
