Absolutely delicious food! Great Happy Hour deals w/ 1/2 price appetizers!???? Nice staff. Next time we are looking forward to checking out the live music & comedy night ????
Ok, so I've been praising a lot of places here in Colorado springs recently. But I loved the happy hour at this place! The food was great (unless you're trying to watch what you eat... you'll eat too much!). The beers were good, the staff was always helpful with suggestions.
I've been an out-of-state fan of the beers for years, so I looked forward to the opportunity to eat at one of the Colorado restaurants. This exceeded any expectations I had. We ate on the outdoor patio in back (we had a dog with us), but we had two other staff members other than our waitress check in on us, and multiple staff members came out to love and bring snacks to our dog and a dog at another table.
The food was good, and of course, the beers were incredible.
I really deeply enjoyed and was very impressed by the food. The energy in the restaurant was buzzing and lively but not too busy at the same time. There was no wait.
The only negative experience I had was when I came in. The host kind of ignored me and left so I sat down because I figured he was busy and that maybe it was busier than what I could see from where I was in the front but when another couple came in he ran over to greet and seat them quickly.
When someone else came to help me and was going to confirm my seat the original host came back and tried to say that I would be more comfortable downstairs. Even though I was dining by myself and it was definitely seating available in booths, tables and PLENTY at the bar, the host tried to take me downstairs where it was literally NO ONE! I felt just a little racially targeted/isolated at first, I can't lie but after I told him that I didn't want to sit there and asked to sit in the booth that we passed that was available, everything else was good.
The waiter Melanie, was really sweet and so was the other waiter brought me the drink.
I sat right by the kitchen where you could see all of the action. Everything was very clean. For example, I saw one of the expeditors drop a receipt, pick it up, change gloves, wash their hands, then promptly put on new ones before going back to what they were doing. Doesn't sound important but it's about the integrity people have when they don't think that anyone is looking that makes the difference.
This was absolutely worth every penny. Wish I had a much better welcome initially but I don't think that experience was representative of all of the good things here. That guy looked pretty young so maybe he was new I don't know. They also give a portion of their sales to charity so that's wonderful perk!
They have fantastic food. I tried the candied bacon, catfish bites, pulled pork and hush puppies. We all shared. It was a ton of food. The catfish bites were my absolute favorite. They candied bacon wasn't at the top of my list. It was fried bacon with a hard candy poured over it. The pulled pork was on point... juicy and flavorful. The hush puppies were awesome. Just like they were out of the South! They service was great! We were in the bar area during a busy time but our glasses were never dry and they were very attentive. Solid place!!
