I like the food and suggest everyone go try it. I had lamb and you use the teff bred to scoop up your food. They have gluten free and organic choices. The restaurant was a little small and more casual than I expected. It was a good dining experience.
I find this place to be bit over-rated. First of all it takes quite long to get your meal. Have tried their vegetarian combo and seafood platter -- in my opinion they both are average. Additionally the shrimps come with the shells around and you go through a hard time of cleaning them out yourself. Only recommended if you are craving for different cuisine -- i guess the Injera bread is the only special thing that I like at this place.
Excellent Ethiopian restaurant run by a delightful lady and her son. Last night was our first visit there, but we will be back on future trips to Colorado Springs. The food was tasty, well seasoned and attractively presented. Good level of spice in some of dishes and delicious desserts - not over sweet, but yummy. There is very interesting art and memorabilia from Ethiopia on the walls, so there is plenty to look at as you eat. Restaurant may close early before 8pm, if it is busy, so get there early, at least between 6 and 7 pm. Better still call ahead and reserve a table, as we did. Thank you for a wonderful evening!!
My friends and I tried Ethiopian for the first time. The owner of the restaurant served us and was very nice and informative. She talked to is a lot about the food and how to eat it. We were tempted to try the Mediterranean food, since we were more familiar with that, but we were glad we went with the Ethiopian!!! Definitely recommend
Love Uchenna! We're here again today for my daughter's birthday, it's the only thing she requested. The food is always perfect, chef Maya is so friendly, and the atmosphere is so relaxing. Definitely our favorite restaurant in Colorado springs
