IT'S NO LONGER GOLDEN BAR!! This family took over this location 11 months ago, so all the bad reviews were for previous restaurant before this family took over.
I was born and raised in Taiwan, moved to the states for the schools. I've been far away from home for years, I already gave up on finding authentic Taiwanese food in the states until I tried this place.
Chen's kitchen is a small family business, and the family is very sweet and friendly. On top of that they truly make me feel like I am home.

Truly excellent authentic Taiwanese food. The menu isn't huge, but everything on it is delicious. Highly recommended!

MOST AUTHENTIC TAIWANESE FOOD HERE. Take my words because I was born and raised in Taiwan until moving to the states for college, and I love food. Lived in Seattle, LA, Vegas and now in Denver.. I have to say, I’d never thought of that the best Taiwanese food would be in Denver. EVERY dish here is on-point and hits the “Taiwanese spots” in me. This cute Taiwanese family took over the location 10 months ago, so if you see older reviews talking about a crummy restaurant, that’s not them. You’d be able to tell how much effort they put into finding the right high-quality ingredients, perfecting the flavors, and providing a clean and comfortable environment for the guests.

The struggle for me every time I come here is.. I really wish I have 2 stomachs!! It takes me 1.5 hrs on the road to come here, so I always order more to take home!

    What I’ve ordered:
*Combination Bento: most bang-for-the-buck, and not only there are veggie sides, you also get a pork chop, chicken cutlet and shrimp tempuras over minced pork rice. I always order this to take home, and it’s great for reheating too (bento is microwave safe).

*Glazed Pork Belly Buns: The pork belly bun done-the-right-way. Personally, not used to crispy pork belly in my buns where you can find in ramen places. Simply because we don’t eat it that way in Taiwan. The ground peanut powder and pickled veggies are the perfect match with braised pork belly.. a good balance of flavors and textures together.

*Spiced Tofu: very juicy and flavorful. Ordered because the other item was out. And it’s one of reasons why I’m sitting here at the restaurant now :)

*Wonton Noodle Soup (new item I tried today): Amazing, delicious, homemade Taiwanese wontons are just the truth. The lil meatballs in the wonton skins were so yummy, and not mushy. The ground pork had to be repeatedly beat and kneaded to achieve the desire texture.

*Boba: I like it because it’s made with real ingredients and not powder. The caramelized syrup they make in-house is just delicious.

*Chicken Popcorn: one of the most popular street food items in Taiwan. This dish hit the spot! The chicken was marinated in their special sauce and fried to crispy golden brown.. seasoned with white pepper and salt. That’s the Taiwanese flavor.

I can’t wait to come back and try the Beef Noodle Soup which is a classic noodle dish in Taiwan! My friends raved about it.

It isn't Golden Boar any longer.
Very limited menu. Crispy Garlic Tofu was good. Braised Pork with noodles had very little pork.
