Sometimes the best food comes from obscure places. Nestled along bustling Kipling next to the Wheat Ridge Rec Center, Alma's offers a sweet sanctuary from a wild world. By no means the most popular joint I have been in, yet exudes the authenticity of homemade Mexican food. From the depth of their green chili, to the crispy delightfulness of their rellenos, everything packs a flavor worthy of savoring. Not to mention their salsa to start it all off is fresh and made with care, served with freshly made tortilla chips. Service is quick, friendly, and always welcoming. If you dont know, now you do.
The food was fresh and everything had a nice spice. The server was excellent and attentive. The dining room has no windows so it feels stuffy.
Husband and I just got two breakfast burritos here and they are really great. Plenty of eggs, good potatoes, cheese, green chili, bacon or what ever meat you like. Reasonable, beats every place we have tried. My daughter told us how good they are.
We love Mexican food and go out quite often. My husband is always disappointed by the green chili ever since we tried Alma's green chili. The most flavorful and delicious green chili we've had! Everything else is tasty too. Clean and nice. A little high on prices, but we've paid more for bad food (chuys)
Food was good but not enough to stand out amongst all the great Mexican places in the area, especially for the price. Everything seemed really expensive for what was offered. Margaritas we especially ridiculous. We split one, got two entrees and two kids meals and spent easily twice what we'd pay at our favorite local Mexican spots where we both get margaritas. The dining room is spacious but drab and windowless, and it's really quiet, so our conversation felt like it echoed through the whole place. Not really a comfortable place to take young kids. Again, nothing about the taste of presentation of the food was bad, it's just overpriced typical family Mexican fare in a kind of awkward, uncomfortable setting.
