In spite of everything being way to salty the place is an institution, at least for the locals. Why can cooks/chefs figure out there is a salt shaker on every table? You have been warned.
Good value for the lunch menu. Dinner menu is a little spendy. Two pieces of fried chicken + mashed potatoes- $13.50. That send patrons to fast food restaurants.
Still... the fish on the walls are pretty cool.
Love Vern's!!! I love breakfast and lunch here. Every time I have been here, the food is good. By far the best taco salad I have had. Sometimes we plan our motorcycle ride around a deliberate trip to Vern's.
I've been going here since I was a small child. This is no frills kind of place for breakfast lunch or dinner. The food is delicious and well priced. Definitely recommend the biscuits and gravy or the cinnamon rolls!
Been here many times in the past and in my opinion it has slipped. What was once a place to recommend is now just a place I would go to as a last minute option on the way out of town. The hash browns were dry and the sausage patties were too greasy. Dad as it was once a place I would say "We just have to go to for breakfast!" Now I am rethinking. I will say the large cinnamon roll was good but that was for me on this last trip the only highlight.
Vern's Place is an excellent place to eat. The food is always good. Literally even item on the menu is packed with flavor. They have unique hot sauces at each table. They have a gift store with new items coming in all the time. It's a great place to visit on your way up to Estes. Try the cinnamon rolls. This place is awesome!
