Spent one night at the Wine Country Inn on route to Grand Canyon North Rim and dined onsite at Caroline's. 5 star restaurant any day of the week! Outstanding service. Immediate seating with our reservation. Surprisingly high-end top notch gourmet menu. Great selection of wines, cocktails and spirits. Food was outstanding. My wife had a spring salad and I had the French Onion as appetizers. We were served complimentary fresh baked warm bread rolls with creative textured butter balls. My entree was the trout and my wife had the salmon. For dessert we shared a rich, creamy Palisade Peach bread pudding. Views from our table were beautiful. An overall great experience that far exceeded our expectations for such a casual town as Palisade. Two thumbs up to the owners and managers and staff.
Went on a little dinner date with my husband this past week, and had a delightful experience. Our server, Juan, was a gem of a human and his menu knowledge helped us pick our meals and drinks. We started with a whiskey flight, something we always love. I'm from the East Coast, so I am very particular about my french onion soup. This was fantastic! 10/10 there! My husband had the salmon, which was cooked to perfection. I had the elk carbonara -- another winning dish. We finished with their seasonal dessert, a raspberry lime cake that was not what we were expecting, but was fantastic nonetheless. Tasted like something from our childhood! We will definitely be back.
Nice little place, service was a bit slow to get started, I was actually worried no one was there and the door was just open haha but once seated we had a great meal. The french onion soup is a fantastic appetizer, I probably wouldnt order the charcuterie board again though- it's better at the wineries in town.
