This had such a beautiful setting. The fish was freshly caught and the service was good. Rustic, casual, waterside. Wish they stayed open longer. They closed up for the season Sept 22.
This place is a lot of fun - I boated here with some friends after work. It was very busy and it seems like it is the happening place to go around the lake on weekends.
I got a tuna sandwich with fries for dinner and it was very yummy. It was cooked perfectly and I would definitely eat it again.
The bar kind of reminded me of something I would find in the middle of New York State - more country-ish casual vibe.
Down the Hatch is where you go to have good summertime food! From burgers for the kids to steamed lobsters for the adults you will not be disappointed. We just recently moved to the area and Down the Hatch has become our Saturday lunch spot after running our morning errands. Sadly I think they close during the Winter months, and that's okay, Connecticut Winters as we learned can be brutal, but then on the bright side (really bright) we have the Summer to look forward to and the reopening of our new favorite place! Insofar as the staff is concerned, they could not be more lovely and courteous. The view made the experience extra special!
Came here for lunch and ordered a chicken wrap. The chicken inside was like warm and tasted like it was make in the morning. It was nothing spectacular. The service was good. And the prices were fair.
The best part was after we ate we walked down the dock to the water and checked out the huge fish swimming right up to us.
