“A fabulous place to get steak, and the salmon is to die for. We have been coming here for countless years well back into the mid 1980's. We come in, and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. The seating in the main area, the lights are romantic and dim. The kitchen is over to the side where you pick your salad bar and smell the aromatic grill from all the orders. Reservations because it is always busy. Habe a drink at the bar, a whiskey or ameretto sour and enjoy the ambiance in the cozy Smithy. The parking lot is in the rear and can hold a number of cars. After almost 30 years of coming to The Smithy the food has always been remarkable, the servers are pleasant and the food is exquisite. We eat here usually once a month as a treat to ourselves. We have brought family, friends, international guests, and even our children throughout the years. In 1996, my daughter picked your place for her special graduation dinner. We will be visiting this Saturday evening and again on Valentines in the near future for another great time with long time friends.”

“Food is really good and the service is nice. The price is very reasonable for the quality of food maybe even a bit cheaper than it should be, but I'm not complaining. Sadly the Town of Monroe won't let them have people eat on their patio so you don't get an option to eat in a more area but the inside is perfectly fine for small groups looking for a place to eat. The portions are large so expect to bring home Left overs. If it's spicy on the menu it means it's spicy so don't play around if you shouldn't be eating spicy foods. All in all this place is absolutely worth your time and money. I've personally yet to be dissatisfied with their food and service.”

“I stopped in for a fish and chips dinner, to eat there. My order was taken quickly. While the meal was cooking, a number of people came in to buy various (fishy) products. It was clear from the way the owner warmly greeted them that most of the shoppers were long-term clients who greeted him the same way. While i waited, i also looked at the fish; it all seemed fresh, well cut, and properly cooled. They also have some more unusual products, including octopus and frog legs. Yes, as for the meal, served quickly enough and properly cooked. I'd recommend the Fish Market for both cooked meals and the ingredients for cooked meals.”

“Now when I say that this is in the top 5 Italian places I've been to that may be an understatement. I've been to almost every place on Arthur Ave, top tier restaurants in Cali, Chicago, twin cities, Florida, Arizona. Basically everywhere. The service and the food is phenomenal. Everyone working here was at the top of their game. Everything we had was great. Ordering off menu was simple, the broccoli bread was impossibly good. Drinks were strong. Prices are fair. I'll be back, probably more often than I should. Eat here.”

“Service was slow. Friday, January 27, 2019. Arrived at 9:40pm, seated. About 12 mins later, our order was taken. At 10:07pm, our coffee arrived (27 minutes after we sat down our coffee arrived.) Tuna melt was fine. Grilled chicken club was fine. French fries were pale and flavorless (not fresh-cut fries, frozen). If you like fries crispy, make sure to ask for them crispy. (Was afraid of we sent back it would take too long to come back.) Cole slaw is store bought, drippy, bland (at least tonight it was). Diner is clean, neat, convenient. Menu is large and accommodates all palates. I would go back and give another try. It may have just been an off night for them.”

“Lately, it's been my home away from home. Parking is perfect, location is quiet and the vibes inside are good. I play a lot of billiards during the week and 80% of the time is spent playing at Bill's ordering a quesadilla and a Stella. If you haven't been here yet give it a shot. Try it out for a football game on TV or go play pool with a friend. Professional players beware, the sticks have been terrible lately so bring your own gear if you have it.”
