Carbone's

I first went to Carbone's a couple of years ago while on a business trip to Hartford. While back in Hartford with my sister, I made a reservation for dinner and promised my sister she would love it. Carbone's once again, did not disappoint. Appetizers, entrees and dessert were all amazing. For dessert, try the ricotta cake. It was the best dessert we have EVER had! EVER! One of the waiters (John) actually prepared the dessert at the table and I just cannot say enough about it. Kudos to John!

We chose here for our date night and were happy to also discover it was restaurant week. From the greeting at the door to the wait staff being friendly we were anticipating a great meal and weren’t disappointed. The portions were smaller than normal but to be expected for restaurant week. Regardless every mouthful was divine and we left completely satisfied. The ambience made for a wonderful date night and the food worth every penny. We will definitely be back.

For reasons we can't remember we hadn't been to Carbones in years after it being our "go to" place for 15 plus years. Anyway, it was my wife's birthday so we decided on Carbone's with friends for her special night. We booked reservations for 7PM on Saturday night and it was very busy when we arrived. We opted to wait in the bar and have drinks while we waited for our both. The bar is cozy, beautifully decorated and the bartender is superb. I'm fussy about my Martinis and he prepared it perfectly as per my request. He was also very helpful helping the ladies decide on what to have. So the beginning of the evening, in the bar, set the stage for what was going to be a perfect evening out.

This place is amazing in every way. The food is 2nd to none, the location is easy to get to and to park and when you go in you can feel the old world charm welcome you. Carbone's in Hartford is excellent you want good Italian food in the Caesar salad made out to table good service make reservations suggested always busy. July in August they have a Lobster Fest that's very good. It is restaurant week in Hartford, and that often brings a different crowd and certainly a scaled back menu. The wait staff was at full tilt, and to some extent that created a "speed banquet" tempo. Still, they were in good spirits and genuinely tried and succeeded to make their customers happy.

Wonderful Italian restaurant in the south end of Hartford. It’s no surprise that Carbone’s has done so well all these years. The ambiance is very comfortable and the service is excellent. The food preparation is top notch. Carbone’s also has Carbone’s Prime in Rocky Hill and Carbone’s Kitchen in Bloomfield. All of the restaurants are unique and equally 5 stars !
