Friendly's

Update: It seems they switched back to their regular server model, so people don't have to order before they sit down anymore.

This review is from the perspective of someone who only does takeout here. I've done it twice since they changed to their new express model. I've paid online with my card both times. First time was good. I walked up to the counter and they gave me my order. Second time was more busy and this is where the model sort of falters. There was six employees all doing something behind the counter, yet the line wasn't moving and I'm not sure if anything was actually being output by all those employees. They seemed busy though. Some people are indecisive and if there's a family, it takes a couple minutes to order and holds up the line. Not their fault, just the nature of the menu and people being used to sitting down and having a couple minutes to decide. So after waiting in line a couple minutes, the cashier told me she couldn't find my order in the system, but someone had already gathered it and left it in the kitchen. I feel they should have a better system for dealing with prepaid orders, but I might be in the minority of people.

Food itself is what I expect for the price. I would put it as slightly better than McDonald's, but not as good as Chili's. Ice cream is always good though. All in all, food is as expected, but service can be hit or miss as it's been for years.

While we remember these locations having table service normally, it was still a great (and friendly) spot to stop by for a late breakfast/early lunch. The food was reasonable and delicious. The place was clean and comfortable. No complaints here for a fast sit-down experience. :) Update: they brought back table service.
